To The Editor:
This letter is in response to "Granville residents are upset and angry."
I applaud the efforts of the sign makers and agree that the moose
warning signs are a great idea. They are an important reminder to slow
down to protect both humans and wildlife. However, where the heck does
Ms. Stratton-Appleton get off accusing all of Boston?
Did she see a car with MA plates drive off with the sign? Unless she did, that's quite a leap. Who knows?...maybe it was someone from Boston, or New York, or New Jersey -- or any of the other states that people drive up from to spend their time and money in the Mad River Valley.
Who knows? Unless she saw someone, perhaps she should
refrain from biting the hand that feeds The Valley's economy. Oh, and
speaking of "murder"... I've never known a tree to benefit from having
a sign bolted to it. Perhaps she should channel her bigotry and anger
at flatlanders into erecting a proper sign post, one that won't result
in tree damage.
