To The Editor:
I just cussed at the TV. Why? Well, I don't mind people protesting the war in Iraq. It is a citizen's right to do so, but your neighbor with the field of survey marker flags to count our country's war dead should be ashamed of himself.
If this man wants to protest by counting this country's fallen heroes, fine, But cheap survey markers are for marking buried pipes and cables, not representing our fallen heroes. C'mon buddy, show a little class and at least spring for AMERICAN FLAGS to represent our finest.
Editor's Note: Apparently this letter writer is reacting to a CNN piece about the death of the 4,000th U.S. service person to die in Iraq. The CNN piece aired March 24 and featured footage and interviews with the keepers of the Iraq War Memorial on Route 100 in Waitsfield.
