To the Editor:
No matter what special interest group is pushing for still a third vote on this water project, I for one wholeheartedly agree with the letter to the editor last week (8/14/08) from our previous select board member Sal Spinoza who wrote that to (gold) rush into another vote, "was an unwise decision." Sal makes the great logical point that most voters truly feel, that "more information could be effectively disseminated; the cost could be further clarified; information about the cost of (the) operation and maintenance could be developed and (could have been) considered. . . (by the) voters (at) Town Meeting Day, 2009."
Now his excellent points of view are no longer possible to consider because of the poorly rehashed and vaguely presented project which must be voted down on September 9 because no intelligent water user could possible know how much it will exactly cost them each and every month, year in and year out -- who other than the 65 signed-up businesses would ever dare to hook up to this wet pipe dream?
And if you still think this is a good idea, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that you might be interested in buying? And if you already own it, I'd like to sell you some insurance for it. Looking for change? Then don't do it for the children, do it to save your neighbors.
Get out and vote no again.
