To the Editor:
I have not been bashful in documenting my disapproval of our junior senator in these pages, and I am sure I will continue to do so in the future. But, where Senator Sanders and I differ is in the means to the end, and not the end in itself, a better America for all.
I offer as evidence the senator's recent appearance on the Bill Maher program, "Real Time." He was passionate, eloquent and astute in painting a picture of where we are as a nation and a vision for the future. You can see excerpts of the show at:
Much as I try to disagree with him, I must admit that he is spot on in this assessment of the state of our nation and where we must focus our energies to become that shining city on the hill, that beacon of hope that was once America.
So, Senator Sanders, please keep challenging, questioning, grandstanding and thinking. The free market of ideas will find the good ones and file away the not so good ones, and discard the really bad ones.
I never thought I'd say this...Go, Bernie!
