To The Editor:
Currently,
Washington County has a shortage of Guardians ad Litem available to speak up
for the abused and neglected children in court. If you have the time to
give, care immensely about children in your community, and can advocate for
children with both objectivity and with compassion, then please consider
applying to become a Guardian ad Litem.
You do not need a professional degree or background to become a Vermont court advocate for a child. Volunteers accepted to our program must pass a background check and receive 32 hours of pre-service training and have a willingness to learn and grow as an advocate.
If you are interested in becoming a Guardian ad Litem, please email Annè Asoera at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or go online to www.vermontjudiciary.org at Court Programs, or call (800) 622-6359 for an application and more information. You may also call your local Washington Superior Court at 479-4205.
