As part of a reorganization effort, the Agency of Natural Resources is seeking to develop a comprehensive, 10-point plan to improve hunting and fishing in Vermont.
James Ehlers, the publisher emeritus of Outdoors Magazine
, is chair of the 13-member committee charged with developing such a plan. In order to gain valuable input from the public, Ehlers is asking interested people to respond to the question:
"If you were in charge of ANR's Department of Fish and Wildlife, what 10 points would your revitalization plan include?"
The purpose of the task force is to make a series of recommendations to ANR Secretary George Crombie that can form the basis of a business plan that would enhance hunting and fishing activities in Vermont. The committee is expected to conclude its work by October.
To comment, refer to the agency's website, www.anr.state.vt.us , or send Ehlers an e-mail at
. For those without access to the internet or e-mail, comments may be mailed to Ann Shangraw, Agency of Natural Resources, Department of Fish and Wildlife, 103 South Main Street, 10 South, Waterbury, VT 05671-0501.
