Harwood wrestlers shine at championships

The Harwood Union High School's middle school wrestling team competed in the state championship meet on Saturday, February 27, and, according to athletic director Sue Duprat, "All in all, it was a great showing for Harwood wrestling."

Kaegen Pearsall placed first at 190 pounds, Ryan Haskins placed first at 210 pounds and Jeremy Champnet placed second at 210 pounds.

At the New England Championships, Kaegan Pearsall placed first at 190 pounds, Jeremy Champney placed first at 210 pounds and Ryan Haskins placed fifth at 210 pounds.

Coach Brain Wagner made history at the Vermont State Championships; he received the Vermont State Wrestling Coaches Association's Coach of the Year Award. The reason he made history, according to Duprat, was because his father, Hubie Wagner of Middlebury, won the award several times. This is the first time in Vermont Wrestling history that father and son have won.
