To The Editor:

I would like to second Rosemarie White’s frustration with the budget-setting process for the Washington West Supervisory Union budget. There is no way to register one’s disapproval with budgetary decisions of the supervisory union board other than by voting no on one’s local school budget. This is absurd.

I venture to think that supervisory union administrative staff salaries would not have been increased to the extent that they were if the authors of that budget had had to present those increases for a vote. At a time when our school budgets are so close to the bone and everyone else is making sacrifices, the large salary increases for supervisory union administrative staff feel entirely inappropriate and very insensitive.
