‘It is broke’

To The Editor:

This letter is addressed:

Dear Congressman,

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. Congress has had 237 years to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. Congress has had 77 years to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. Congress has had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. Congress has had 47 years to get it right and they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. Congress has had 42 years to get it right and it is broke.

That being said, what can you tell me and the people eligible and mandated to buy into the recently enacted Obamacare legislation that it will be any different from the above mentioned ventures? How can we believe that this will be the first congressionally conceived and federally operated program that will be more efficiently run, freer from corruption and job protection than the private sector? What do you know about the program that we don't?

I would appreciate your point on response to these questions, which I believe all citizens of the country deserve in order to make well-founded decisions.

Any bets on whether I receive responses on point to my questions?
