To The Editor:

"Brilliantly crafted joy, fun and laughter," is how Montpelier's Lost Nation Theater's artistic director Kathleen Keenan describes an adult production beginning today, The Vagina Monologues. All four shows, through Sunday afternoon, are to benefit Circle, formerly named our county's Battered Women's Services and Shelter.

It is well-known elsewhere, translated into more than 48 languages in over 140 countries, with some sold-out runs in New York City and London and was written by Eve Ensler, a Tony award-winning playwright.

Four previous LNT productions have been readings. This one is acted out by a cast of nine women. Based on reviews, including a preview by Mary Gow of Warren, an arts correspondent, I can't wait to see it. I hope many reading this will join us. Even more important for Circle and our work is that it benefits a necessary and worthy cause as well as costly improvements for our shelter. After this Thursday's and Sunday's productions will be a Circle-facilitated discussion. Find out what we do!

Schedule is 7:30 this evening, Thursday, through Saturday, Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at Lost Nation Theater, 229-0492. Don't miss some important fun, a collection of women's intimate and powerful stories.
