Brooks Clark of Fayston claimed his first career Late Model feature win on Vermont Ace Hardware night at Thunder Road in Barre on Thursday, August 18. Clark battled hard from the outside pole to edge pole-sitter Jamie Aube before the first and only caution of the 50-lap event came on lap 10.

Clark and Brett Wheeler broke away from the pack following the restart. The two battled through lapped traffic in the later stages of the event, but Wheeler didn’t have enough to get by. Grant Folsom of Waitsfield finished in 21st place.

In the Allen Lumber Street Stocks, Kyle Streeter of Waitsfield took 8th place and Troy Kingsbury of Waitsfield finished in 13th.

Next Thursday, August 25, is championship night for the Late Models presented by Aubuchon Hardware and Benjamin Moore.

A 100-lap feature will decide the 2011 “King of the Road.” The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Junkyard Warriors will run regular events. The night will also feature a Kids’ Poster Contest during intermission. Post time is at 6:30 p.m.
