On Thursday, December 31, 2009, the Waitsfield Fire Department responded to a three-alarm-fire at a garage owned by David and Sherry Armstrong on Route 100 behind AmeriGas. The Warren and Moretown Fire Departments also assisted with the call, which took approximately 35 men eight hours to fully extinguish, according to Waitsfield Fire Department chief Delbert Palmer.
