Susan E. Lauck (Suzy), 67, a Warren resident since 1994, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her family at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Born Susan Elizabeth Small on June 10, 1942, at Montreal, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late John Small and the late Etta June Small of Letete, New Brunswick. She married Anthony G. Lauck (Tony) in 1965 at Princeton, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband, of Warren, and their sons, Peter and Greg.

Suzy graduated from the Halifax School for the Blind and the University of Toronto. In 1977, she received the Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory, where she was a student of Jacob Maxin. As part of her program she gave two piano recitals in Jordan Hall in Boston. A recording of these recitals may be downloaded from her husband's website, www.aglauck.com. Suzy played professionally in the early 1960s in Canada, including performances broadcast on Radio Canada.

Suzy's family would like to thank the staff of the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center for all the kindness, respect and care extended to Suzy and her family during her one-month stay in the facility. A memorial gathering of Suzy's friends will be held next summer in Warren. For those who wish, memorial gifts to the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service would be appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to
