Stellan P. Wollmar, Fayston, is having an exhibit of original oil paintings from December 4 through 21 at the Big Picture Theater & Café in Waitsfield off Route 100. There will be a reception on Saturday, December 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wollmar has been a part-time, now full-time, Fayston resident for close to 40 years. He is married to poet and special educator Jane Wollmar. Retired from international banking, he is turning his avocation of painting into a part-time profession.

He has exhibited and sold his work in the New England states, Florida, the UK, and France. In Vermont his paintings have been shown at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, and the Red Barn Art Show in Waitsfield. As past president of the Green Mountain Cultural Center, Wollmar served for two years as director of the juried Art in the Round Barn Show.

Wollmar also does some woodcarving and has illustrated the folktale, Hairry GaGoinky: A Tale for Skiers, written by Earline Marsh of Middlesex and Gary Parkinson.

Approximately 30 small oil paintings will be shown and offered for sale at the Big Picture Theater and Café. His paintings present eclectic subjects from landscapes to still lifes, from animal portraits to people.
