CBMS wins spelling bee

Students from Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield, Warren, and Crossett Brook schools participated in a spelling bee hosted by Fayston School on October 11.

The fifth- and sixth-grade Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) spelling bee was hosted at Fayston Elementary School on Wednesday, October 11. Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield, Warren and Crossett Brook Middle School (CBMS) students participated in this event. This year's spelling bee champion was CBMS, whose members will go on to the 2017 State Spelling Competition that will be held on Saturday, November 18.

The regional and state spelling competitions are organized by teams on two grade levels: fifth/sixth and seventh/eighth. Regional competition winners compete to determine the state champions at each grade level. The Vermont Principals’ Association team spelling championship is sponsored by the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC).
