On Friday, February 2, the Harwood Union alpine teams competed at Bolton Valley under the lights in a slalom competition. It was a great meet for the Harwood teams, with the girls placing second and boys first overall.

Laura Dillon, 7th, and Anna Skilton, 8th, got the Harwood girls off to a great start with two fine runs. Caroline Dillon, 11th, Lucy Gubernick, 14th, and Caty Shea, 34th, all had great performances to give the Harwood girls their best team finish of the season.

Strong would be the best word to describe the Harwood boys' team's effort. With all 8 skiers finishing in the top 12, this was also the boys' team's best team result of the season. Austin Stewart, 2nd, Sean O'Brien, 3rd, Chad Koenig, 4th, and Eric Bidlack, 6th, nearly swept the event with a perfect score. Tanner Skilton, 9th, JP Gaurdino, 10th, Aaron Chesler, 12th, and Jamie Dillon, 13th, all had solid runs and provided great team depth.

The teams compete at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Mad River Glen this week.
