To The Editor:
I would like to sincerely thank all of the residents of Duxbury who came out for the Special Town Meeting held last night. I respect the fact that taxpayers had questions regarding the finances of the town. Fortunately, we were able to sort through a good deal of misinformation and validate the decision made at the Special Town Meeting held May 10, 2014, to address the debt the town has been left with. I am grateful for all of the hard work that has gone into this by my fellow board members. I am also thankful for the thorough audit provided by Batchelder Associates which has finally resolved many of the outstanding questions hanging over Duxbury's finances. Lastly, we owe thanks to our treasurer, Kym Andrews, who took on the position at a most difficult time and has worked tirelessly to return our financial records and procedures to high standards. Let us continue to move the town of Duxbury forward.
