To The Editor:

Our town has been rife with discord ever since the onset of the water project. There seems to be an elite group with big dreams for the small town of Waitsfield; and it appears that it is determined to achieve them at all costs to the taxpayers. Our town is made of many different groups, and I feel they need to be respectfully listened to.

With regard to the water project, I know that honesty and transparency were not always prevalent by all parties. I feel our select board let us down by allowing that to happen. Now, I am concerned that decisions regarding the new town offices are taking us down the same path.

We need a select board that can represent the people dispassionately. We also need a conservative board so that our children and grandchildren can afford to live here. (And me too.)

We have been spending money way too freely and often unnecessarily.

It is time to say thank you to current representatives for their long hours of civic work and move to support new delegates. If you are truly concerned, make sure to vote on Town Meeting Day.
