Hundreds of towns in New England and their citizens take pride in using and finding creative ways to rebuild and reuse their historical buildings.

The town of Waitsfield and the Mad River Valley together with the many talented, experienced architects and contractors should be able to find ways to efficiently and economically make use of the already existing historical buildings (examples: Gallagher's, Flemer Barns, Methodist Church, Troll Shop) to build a modern, well-located town office.

The taxpayers and other governmental funding organizations, plus the 1,000 of friends of the Mad River Valley all could combine to get enthusiastic support for this rebuilding.

Vote down urban sprawl and vote up well thought out reuse and rebuild.

Building new buildings while the historical inventory just rots is unacceptable.
