To The Editor:

My wife and I, as well as several other friends and family, have lived and worked in Waitsfield for most of our lives.

Recently we have been fortunate enough to be able to spend a brief amount of time in a warmer area of the country! Unfortunately, this means we have not been able to be part of the decision- making process enacted on Town Meeting Day.

In my opinion, I believe that the privilege of voting on important issues should not be denied because we are out of town, unable to take the day off, sickness, or other reasons we cannot be at the meeting.

In the interest of fairness, community involvement and our rights, I encourage everyone to support the Australian ballot for all issues affecting school and town budgets.
