Left to right: Jennifer Lord, Andra Kisler and Will Wuttke discuss gender issues facing their family in Raggedy And.

Back by popular demand after its East Coast premiere at the Chandler Pride Festival, Raggedy And will be performed for two nights only, August 10 and 11, at the Valley Players Theater on Route 100, Waitsfield. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m. In this fast-paced, contemporary comedy directed by Joanne Greenberg, the perfect poet is needed for the near-future inauguration of America’s first female president. When a transgender woman is selected, her wife hits the roof, while their son insists it isn't an invasion of privacy. Imagining the glare of the media spotlight focused on her family, will the poet take the stage? In her first theatrical role, Burlington singer Jennifer Lord stars as the poet, and popular actor Andra Kisler (Northfield) is her construction-manager wife Clem. Vincent Broderick (Montpelier) and William Wuttke (South Royalton) complete the cast.
