Either way, there haven't been those kinds of traffic backlogs at the intersection of Routes 17/100 in many a moon!

Kudos are in order, first of all, for all those marketing people who so successfully drew the crowds to The Valley in the first place. Some of the visitors undoubtedly came because of heavy snow down country -- but most of the visitors planned their visits ahead of time. Congrats marketeers - your good work paid off!

To those who received them at inns, lodges, rental homes and condos - all hail. Nicely done. Especially when you had to turn over rooms and units multiple times. Herculean work. We salute you and those who served the coffee and made the beds and plowed and answered the phones, etc.!

Oh yea of restaurant toil - that was heroic. From the hosts to the bartenders, the servers to the bus people, the chefs to the owners - take a bow. Way to get 'em in, feed 'em up and send 'em out the door with smiles on their faces.

Lifties, ski instructors, ticket checkers, groomers, patrollers and ski area personnel in general deserve praise for the experience they put on for our guests. Despite the challenge of dangerously high winds last Monday and Tuesday and requisite lift problems later in the week, the top down good humor of the powers that be kept all within the ranks in good humor and that was passed on to the guests who noticed. Thanks. You made us all look good.

And thanks to the sandwich makers, coffee servers, gas attendants, counter clerks, Nordic ski centers, retail shopkeepers, grocery store checkout people, shelf stockers, deli workers and the myriad others who toiled like yeomen last week.

It was great to see The Valley so well appreciated once again. Congratulations to those who made it happen.
