Summer in Vermont is a short but very sweet occurrence and one that should be savored.
And while the season is short, there’s no shortage of amazing things to do in The Valley and in Vermont in the summer.
Here’s a short list:
Make sure to make time to get outside and play.
Make sure to go to the river often. Climb up to the top of the Bobbin Mill.
Make a date to take a day hike. Treat yourself to Warren Store sandwiches.
Make a date to take a bike tour of The Valley’s back roads.
Take a walk on a dirt road.
If you haven’t gone soaring, go. If you have, go again.
Spend some time in the garden. Spend lots of time in the garden.
Lie in the shade and read a book.
Eat outside as often as possible.
Go to Maynard’s. Hit the Country Creemee stand.
Play outside daily. Play golf, tennis and croquet.
Take visitors to the Ben & Jerry’s factory; eat ice cream.
Take visitors to the Rock of Ages quarry tour in Barre.
Pick strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Eat some, freeze some.
Don’t forget your sunscreen.
