To The Editor:
I’ll be voting for Sal Spinosa for Waitsfield Select Board next week and urge all Waitsfield voters to do the same.
Sal cares deeply for the welfare of our town. I’ve found Sal to be a thoughtful questioner. Although his questions are sometimes hard and difficult, it’s obvious that he’s trying to ferret out the underlying issue so that he and the board can make a decision in the best interest of all Waitsfield citizens.
During Tropical Storm Irene, Sal was the incident commander leading Waitsfield’s response to that natural disaster. He issued clear guidance and provided the resources required for the recovery effort.
I found his leadership to be effective during the emergency, and throughout it, he operated in a low-key and in a behind-the-scenes manner. He was the only board member readily present in our time of serious need. He is presently the only FEMA-trained board member.
