Dear Mad River community members,

We are grateful to the community for your support and contributions during these challenging times. Thank you for all you are doing to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

On April 3, the Vermont Department of Health commissioner, Mark Levine, MD, recommended that all Vermonters use cloth masks when in public. Both Commissioner Levine and Governor Scott emphasized that the Stay Home, Stay Safe order is still in effect, and these masks should be used when engaged in essential trips outside the home.

We want to reiterate that, mask or no mask, staying home remains the best way to protect yourself, family members and health care professionals. If you must go out for an essential reason, a cloth mask or face cloth will help slow the spread of COVID-19.

With this masking recommendation, CVMC is actively looking for volunteers to sew cloth masks. At Family Medicine – Mad River, we are requesting donations for patients that do not already have them. CVMC is also looking for cloth mask donations for staff without close patient contact. Use of cloth masks for our employees who are not in contact with patients will support conserving our personal protective equipment (PPE) for members of our team engaging in direct patient care.

Please contact our office at 802-496-3838 with any questions around cloth mask donations, and visit CVMC’s mask page for detailed instructions on mask making: https://www.cvmc.org/covid-19-information/sewing-masks-donations

Thank you again for your support in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

With gratitude,

The team at CVMC Family Medicine – Mad River
