To The Editor:

Once again, your editorial on the "whipping" of Haitians is the typical editorial misinformation to distract from the true disaster; the immigration mess on our southern border. The pictures of border agents chasing illegal immigrants running across the border has been distorted as a racial incident. It was quickly disproven as fake news that whips were used; mistaken as border agents use the reins to control their horses. But why let a good lie go to waste when you have a chance to bring race into an issue and distract from the real issue of illegals overrunning our southern border. Horses are used by police around the country for crowd control at events, parades and sports stadiums. It provides law enforcement the ability to have better sight lines and to traverse areas where vehicles cannot go. This is especially true on the southern border where the terrain can be extremely dangerous.

At no time were any "whips" issued or used by the border agents. Let's get back to the real issue where thousands of illegals are pouring across our southern border with impunity. Many are bringing health issues into the U.S., including the danger of COVID since most are not vaccinated.

Admit you made a mistake and retract your fake news that whips were used on Haitians running across the border. It would be a step in the right direction to check the facts before reinforcing the narrative of our current administration trying to cover for the immigration border disaster.
