This letter was sent to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

As a staunch supporter for the 20 years that I’ve lived in Vermont, I have always admired your courage and stamina in standing strong for what you believe is the best path for our country and all of its citizens. I had the honor of shaking your hand when you marched in our local parade. I’m writing to you now to ask that you continue on that heroic path and stand up against a vaccine mandate, here in Vermont and on the federal level.

There is so much data now available showing that the current vaccines not only are causing an unprecedented number of adverse effects but are doing nothing to stop the spread of the Delta variant. I’m referring to a publication written by Nina Pierpont, a highly qualified medical and science professional, detailing studies proving the ineffectiveness of the current vaccines to stop the spread of COVID-19. Please take a few moments to research this study, as I’m sure you will find the evidence is overwhelming.

I've watched the majority of the governor’s weekly press conferences and am always baffled as to why none of our state health professionals ever talk about health. Some 97% of COVID deaths in the U.S. are with people who have two co-morbidities -- high blood pressure and obesity being the most common. The best path to fight serious illness from this disease is to eat better and get exercise. That said, do I think we should have weight mandates? Diet mandates? Exercise mandates? Of course not. So why are we coming out with a vaccine mandate when the data show that the vaccines are not working? Several scientists presented data months ago that current vaccines would not have the ability to fight variants.

We’re now seeing those predictions coming true, especially here in Vermont.

All of the people I know personally who are not vaccinated are devoted to best practices regarding nutrition, exercise and general good health.

Instead of penalizing them, as United Airlines is doing with a health insurance surcharge, why not offer a credit for being healthy since they are much less of a strain on hospitals and health care workers? I know you support women’s rights to choose their reproductive health care options. How is a vaccine mandate any different than an abortion ban, especially when the emerging data is proving that the vaccinated are just as likely to spread the disease as the unvaccinated? The proposed mandates are a severe breach of our civil, constitutional and human rights.

I would appreciate a response as soon as possible. Many thanks for your time and for all you do.
