To the Moretown Community:

It has been an honor and privilege for the last five years to be your Moretown representative on the school board. It is bittersweet to let you know I won’t be running for reelection in March.

Working with our superintendent, Dr. Mike Leichliter, over the last two years has been an absolute breath of fresh air and an amazing opportunity. For the first time in a long time, I feel our district is in good hands and it is time for me to pass the torch. Thank you, Moretown, for trusting my ability to make the best decisions for our school, town, and kids.

Each town in our district deserves its full representation at the board table. I am sharing this news early on with hopes that it sparks interest within a member or two of our town who might be willing to run for the Moretown seat in March. If you have been thinking of running for the school board, now is the time to bring your strong sense of community and goodwill for our district to a seat on the school board. Please feel free to reach out to me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or my fellow Moretown representative, Ben Clark (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), with any questions.

If interested in running, please reach out to the Moretown Town Clerk, Cherilyn Brown (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for information on election procedures. The deadline for a petition with signatures is January 29 to be on the Moretown Town Meeting Day ballot.
