To The Editor
(Aug. 29, 2018 – May 11, 2026)
I wanted to share with the Mad River Valley community that my retired Seeing Eye dog, Pete, passed away on May 11. Pete was adopted just two weeks ago by Tanya and Todd, who welcomed him with extraordinary love and generosity. He lived from August 29, 2018-May 11, 2026.
Tanya and Todd gave him a peaceful, gentle, and happy end of life, and I am deeply grateful for the care they showed him. Their kindness made all the difference in his final days.
I am currently at the Seeing Eye training with my new guide dog named Freedom. He is another male Yellow Lab. I will be returning with him on May 21, 2026.
