When one reads the judge's decision, you will learn that there are many
undue adverse reasons the quarry does not fit where it was proposed.
Judge Durkin is highly qualified to make decisions concerning the
extraction of earth resources. He has made other important decisions
while on the bench concerning earth extraction and did so many times as a
former member of an Act 250 District Commission board. I believe he
told us he has been involved in some 50 earth extraction cases.
You cannot imagine the great sense of relief the denials of the appeals
are to those of us that would have been unduly impacted.
