To The Editor:

This letter is addressed to Waitsfield voters.

In this economy and in this place called the Mad River Valley we would be smart to re-use, recycle, renovate, rebuild, repurpose and re-instate a suitable property for our town offices. As Jim Boylan pointed out in his My View piece last week – an "available real estate" tour of Irasville and Waitsfield Village quickly leads one to rethink the strategy of building a new building. With rethinking added to the list, you realize there are far better, more suited and established sites that could be used for town offices and make us proud.

Please cast a vote, your vote, at the polls or by absentee ballot, at the end of this month to reject the Farm Stand option. Our select board stands ready, willing and able to pursue an adaptive re-use option and the state Community Development Block Grant office stands ready, willing and able to help us. Please do not cast your vote based on a fear of losing out on "free money." Join me, and hopefully hundreds of others, in voting no to the bond article and support the greenest, safest, smartest option of all – adaptive re-use.

Thank you for your consideration...and thank you for the water system and the sidewalk!
