After being part of a fantastic cross-country program at Harwood, a number of 2014 graduates made it a priority to continue their racing careers at the collegiate level. These runners include Geoffrey Kazlow of Moretown, who is now running for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Geoffrey has had a great freshman year competing at a number of races up and down the East Coast for the Blue Jays.

Grace Butler of Waterbury Center is attending Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. Grace is a member of the Fighting Missionaries that compete in the NCAA Northwest Conference. Grace, who had a fantastic senior year running for Harwood, has made a good transition to the Whitman team this year. During one weekend when the team was split so they could compete at two meets on the same day, Grace was the top Whitman finisher at her meet. Her efforts impressed the Whitman coach who noted, "It was great to see a freshman runner really coming into her own."

A trio of Harwood graduates is attending St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, and all are running cross-country for the Saints. This includes India Harvey of Duxbury, Marla Davidson of Warren and Caleb Kessler of Fayston. All three of these runners made the varsity travel squad for St. Lawrence, which meant they were in the top 15 runners in their respective programs. Both the men's and women's programs are nationally ranked and both teams qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships by winning the Atlantic Regional Championship. At the National Championships held on November 21 in Wilmington, OH, the women took home an impressive third-place finish and the men came in a strong 10th place. Much like coach Kerrigan, the St. Lawrence coaches noted that India has great team spirit and adds a lot of morale to the team. Marla, who joined the program about halfway through the season after starting the year on crew, quickly regained her fitness and the coaches noted that she would run through a brick wall for the team which is a fact well known by coach Kerrigan. One of the perks Caleb is enjoying as a varsity athlete is that the school does his sport laundry for him and being laundry adverse he has found creative ways to use this perk to avoid having to wash much of his own laundry this semester. All three graduates are enjoying the experience of being members of the close-knit St. Lawrence team.

Coach Kerrigan said, "It is great to see Kerrigan's Army members attacking the collegiate scene on all fronts. These guys have established a Harwood record that is unlikely to be broken. Girls' four state championships in four years and the boys' three state championships in four years and many with top times on the Harwood all-time best list."

"It is gratifying to know they developed a great foundation of running through the Harwood program. I am so honored to be part of their present success. Most of all I am especially proud of their devotion and love for the sport of cross-country running. The spirit that started in our little school in Duxbury will carry with them through their collegiate years and beyond," added coach Kerrigan.
