Homeowners, shopkeepers and civic, religious, scout and fraternal organizations are urged to decorate a building, tree or accessory structure along the "official route." The route includes:

• Route 100 from Moretown/Duxbury town line south to Warren/Granville town line

•  Route 100B Moretown to Middlesex town line

•  Waitsfield's Bridge Street, East Warren Road (including Roxbury Gap: Roxbury/Warren town line) through Warren Village

•  From Mad River Glen, east along Route 17 to Route 100

•  German Flats Road

•  Sugarbush Access Road to Lincoln Peak including Sugarbush Village

Judging will take place on Monday, December 17, with winners to be announced on Tuesday evening, December 18, at the Festival of Lights celebration at Timbers Restaurant at Sugarbush Resort beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thousands of dollars in prizes will be awarded in categories including:

•  Best Decoration of a Home

•  Best Decoration of a Business or Public Building

•  Best Decoration of a Tree over 10 feet

•  Best Decoration of a Tree under 10 feet

•  Best Decoration of Window/Sign or Accessory Structure (shed, gazebo, etc.)

Criteria for judging winners includes Reflective of Theme, Clever and Creative, and Visual Impact. Once 50 displays are registered with the chamber of commerce, $1,000 will be donated to the Mad River Valley Community Fund.
