Warren and Waterbury are among 10 Vermont communities to receive community development grants from the state of Vermont."These grants will rehabilitate affordable housing, create new elderly housing units and adult day care, help plan for responsible future housing projects and promote job creation in Vermont," Governor Douglas said.
The $1,345,498 in Vermont Community Development Program grants will also leverage $10,152,714 in other private and public resources, he said during a ceremony in Milton.
The Village of Waterbury received a $25,000 grant for planning for economic development and housing plans.
Warren will receive $50,000 to make renovations to the Town Hall to bring it into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development awards the competitive grants based on the recommendation of the Vermont Community Development Board and approval of Secretary Kevin Dorn.
