Harwood girls continued their dominance over their league rivals in Stowe on September 21.  The HU girls placed all five scorers in the top 20 in the 150-runner field. Sophomore Jaime Thomas (1) had held her cross country coming out party as she ran away from the rest of the field and teammate Laurel Whitney (2) to gain her first victory in a cross country race. Hannah Woodruff, Olivia Nishi and Kate Stevens all had excellent races to seal the victory.

Harwood boys were led by Geordy Aitken (8) and had solid performances from Nathan Cutler, Pat Meany, Zach Munro, Geoffrey Kazlow and Spencer Salinder.

Harwood boys and girls will compete this Saturday, September 25, for the New England Small School Championship at the Manchester Invitational in Manchester, NH.

Harwood girls finished third last year. "I am hoping our girls make history this Saturday. No Vermont team has ever won the New England Small School Championship in any sport!" said Harwood cross country coach John Kerrigan.
