The festival was created to increase awareness of dog and dog owner etiquette in The Valley, including picking up after dogs, where dogs can be off leash and where they have to be on leash.

The Wags for Bags Festival will also be a celebration of dogs. Bring the family, bring the dog and join in the fun activities and games. The event is rain or shine. Entry to the festival is free with a suggested donation for Pawsitive Pantry (monetary or dry food – dog or cat).

Auction items include a year’s supply of dog food from Royal Canin, a six-week dog training class with CVHS, a night’s stay at the Lareau Farm Inn, a five-day/four-night stay in a one-bedroom cottage on Seymour Lake, and two $50 gift certificates for Paws Pet Sitting.

There will be professional pet portraits available by Barrie Fisher, face painting and American Flatbread will be selling pizza and drinks.
