WCVT’s network undergoing transformation to increase reliability and performance

By Gregg Haskin

Internet connectivity and email access is a critical part of everyday life. Over the past decade, we have become increasingly reliant on this connectivity in both our work and personal lives. The various ways we use technology continue to evolve and become increasingly intertwined in all aspects of our lives.

This all becomes apparent when these systems don’t perform at the level we all expect. Technology is not perfect, equipment does not always work as we would like and upgrades do not always go smoothly despite months or sometimes years of planning and preparation. Such is the case, as of late, and we are sorry for any inconvenience that we have caused you.

Our network is undergoing a complete transformation in an effort to increase redundancy, reliability, features and performance. We are spending millions of dollars to make sure our customers have access to the best, most reliable technology. This transformation has been painful for some in the short term. Even though it may be hard to see now, it will bring many long-term benefits.

We do our best to mitigate any interruptions in service and work directly with the equipment manufacturers to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Yet sometimes, despite all of these efforts, we still have issues. We take the role of keeping our customers connected very seriously. When we do have issues, no one wants these resolved more than we do. We have been working around the clock with our internal employees, consultants and with our after-hours support provider to help each and every customer. This has impacted our call wait times, and we have not been delivering the level of service that we expect of ourselves.

Please be assured that we are dedicated to working through all outstanding issues our customers are experiencing and will not rest until all of those issues are resolved. Thank you for your patience and your support as we complete the transformation of our network.
