Cynthia Joanne (Payne) Glendale, 61, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died unexpectedly in her home on February 22, 2015.

She was born December 7, 1953, in Ithaca, New York.

Cynthia graduated from Penfield High School in Rochester, New York, in 1972. She went on to study at the University of North Carolina, earning a BS in psychology.

Cynthia established a career in marketing and was currently employed as proposal manager with STV in Charlotte. She was fascinated with the creative process of marketing and loved to write.

Cynthia also worked as an artist and was very well known in the local quilting and stained glass communities. She was always creating beautiful pieces and loved sharing her work with others.

Cynthia is survived by her mother, Constance Payne of Morrisville, Vermont; her daughter, Alice Wilson and her husband Chris of Concord, North Carolina; a sister, Constance (Ron) Schenk of Walworth, New York; two brothers, Caldwell Payne of Morrisville and Christopher (Cindy) Payne of Brimfield, Massachusetts; a half sister, Alexandra Payne of Stowe, Vermont; five grandchildren, Jonathan Black, Madelaine Williams, Roman Rockwell, Leo Drill and newborn Lila Rose Wilson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts; and her longtime best friend Carol Heck. Sadly, Cynthia has also left behind her five beloved cats, Maize, Clarence, Blacky, Karma and Pierre. She is predeceased by her father, Robert Fulton Payne, and her brother, Robert Fulton Payne Jr., both formerly of Waitsfield.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Waitsfield Common Cemetery with Reverend Nancy McHugh officiating.
