Alan Mark Davidson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our very much loved Unc Alan Mark Davidson, affectionately known as "John Lennon" to all that knew him and “Unc” to family. Alan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, March 5, 2025, while listening to a Red Sox practice game – his all-time favorite team.

He was born December 22, 1951. He was 73 years old.

A true hippie at heart, Alan embraced a life filled with music, peace, love, and happiness. A devoted fan of The Beatles – especially John Lennon – he found joy in 60s music and the simple pleasures of life. His kind and generous spirit was evident to all who knew him; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Alan was predeceased by his father, Harvey Davidson, mother, Mildred Davidson, and brother, Michael Davidson. He is survived by his sisters, Misty (“Shirley” to Unc) Coolidge and Susan Ferreira, and his brother, Bruce Davidson (whereabouts unknown). He also leaves behind a large and cherished extended family, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews –

too many to name.

For the past 28 years (on and off), Unc shared a home with his niece Tammy Armstrong, her husband, Steve Armstrong, and their daughters, Amanda and Alisha; they considered him a continuous part of the family circle. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be planned at a later date. In his honor, we encourage everyone to turn up some Beatles music, embrace the spirit of peace and love, and cheer on the Red Sox – just as he would have wanted. Peace out Unc! Love you more, longer, bigger, better! Gotcha...
