Gallant

Michael Erwin Gallant, of Randolph, Vermont, passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 22, 1946, in Berlin, New Hampshire, Michael lived a life marked by quiet passions and enduring family bonds.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Biffie (Elizabeth) Gallant; his sisters, Melinda and Maureen Gallant; his son, Keith Gallant and wife Betina; and his daughter, Sara VanSchaick and husband Kevin. Michael was a proud grandfather to Alyson VanSchaick, Monica VanSchaick, Lauren VanSchaick, Quinn Gallant, and Ethan Barrett. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Ariana Defreest, Jaiden Defreest, Amelia Defreest, and Calia Crawford.

Michael found joy in the art of flyfishing and fly tying – pursuits that reflected both his patience and appreciation for nature’s quiet beauty. He was also an avid book collector, drawn to the stories and knowledge that filled the pages of his growing library.

He was a former longtime resident of Warren who ran The Little Grocery with his wife Biffie on the Sugarbush Access Road (now Paradise Provisions) for many years and was a volunteer with MRVAS.
