Willis H. Armstrong, 101, of Waitsfield, passed away at his home on December 20, 2006. Born in Moretown on August 3, 1905, he was the son of the late Lugene A. and Helen S. (Willis) Armstrong. On November 29, 1928, he married the former Dora M. Aldrich in Danielson, CT.

Willis attended school in Moretown until the age of 12 when he moved to Vergennes to complete high school. He later attended Pinetree Academy in Maine and attended Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, MA. In 1929, Willis returned to Waitsfield and began farming, did masonry and carpentry work. He also taught shop and drove A school bus for Waitsfield High School. He later worked at the Parkview Memorial Hospital in Brunswick, ME.

Willis was an elder in the Barre-Montpelier Seventh-Day Adventist Church and in his leisure time enjoyed reading.

He is survived by a daughter Cynthia Rogers of Cheney, WA; three sons, Gene L. Armstrong of Waitsfield, Norman B. Armstrong of Carterville, GA, and Clyde L. Armstrong of Sheldon, WA; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Edward W. Armstrong, as well as a sister and four brothers.

A service of remembrance will be held from the Barre-Montpelier Seventh-Day Adventist Church on December 31, 2006, at 2 p.m. Later inurnment will take place in the Irasville Cemetery in Waitsfield.
