Myrtle F. (Filmore) Geiger, 82, died at 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Harold W. Geiger, who preceded her in death on February 5, 1999.

The funeral service for Mrs. Geiger will be private. Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Spring Grove, is coordinating arrangements.

Born August 12, 1924, in Caernarvon Twp., Lancaster County, Myrtle was a daughter of the late W. Russell and Ann (Ohlinger) Filmore.

She was a graduate of Caernarvon High School in Lancaster County, PA. Mrs. Geiger was a devoted wife and mother whose life was dedicated to homemaking as she lovingly raised four sons. She served as an active volunteer for her community at the Glatfelter Memorial Library in Spring Grove and the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover.

She is survived by her four sons, Karl D. Geiger of York, PA, Richard A. Geiger of Clinton, TE, Walter E. Geiger of Orlando, FL, and Joseph H. Geiger of Hanover, PA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Robert G. Filmore of Lancaster, and four sisters, Dorothy F. Trate of Birdsboro, PA, Ruth F. Cook and Alyce F. McEwen, both of Elverson, PA, and Marie F. Bernstel of Douglasville, PA.
