Steven O. Tracy, 61, of Dalton Road, passed away at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on Thursday, March 15, 2007. Born in St. Albans on November 13, 1945, he was the son of Thelma (Wade) Tracy and the late Phillip Tracy.

Steven attended Hancock and Rochester schools. As a young man, he was employed on several Rochester area dairy farms. For many years he worked as a mechanic at a number of area garages including many years at Hap's Service Station in Waitsfield. More recently he worked as a logger.

In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting and was a former member of the Harry N. Cutting American Legion Post 59 in Waterbury.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Linda Sherman of Duxbury; his mother, Thelma Putnam of Berlin; three daughters, Denise Ruiz of Woburn, MA, Michele Brown of Granville and Renee Bedell of Randolph; a son, Steven M. Tracy of Williamstown; 12 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Annette Menard of Northfield and Jean Stewart of Hurricane, Utah; a half sister, Kelly Patterson of St. Albans; 2 stepsisters, Sharon Randall of Enosburg and Donna Guyette of Winooski; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by two brothers, Phillip and Bruce Tracy.
