Jody Aliotta, 60, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at her home in Sarasota, FL, in the arms of her loving husband. She was born March 18, 1947, to Herman and Elsie Wagner (Calhoun) in North Collins, NY, where she lived until her early teens when her family moved to Bradenton, FL.

Fond memories of her childhood in the Northeast prompted a move to Warren, VT, in 1986 where she lived until 1991. While living in The Valley she worked at DW Pearl's and eventually began her own business, Maid in Vermont. After beginning the business, she was invited and accepted as the first woman to join the Mad River Valley Lions Club.

Her love of the ocean and warmer temperatures drew her back to Florida where she lived until her death. A celebration of her life was held on April 7, 2007 at the Dolphin Lounge in Bradenton, FL, where friends and family gathered to tell stories of her life, her humorous escapades and her generous nature. She and her husband owned and operated the Dolphin Lounge where they frequently held benefits for those in need.

She loved the water and enjoyed time relaxing at the beach or on oceans and rivers boating and fishing.  She also loved listening to music and playing the guitar. She had a beautiful singing voice and occasionally shared it with friends during a musical jam or at karaoke night. She had a big heart and an equally big sense of humor. She could always be counted on to pull a prank, tell a joke (usually tasteless) or to make fun of herself in order to get a laugh and have fun.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Randy and Vincent Pennington, both of Bradenton, FL; her daughter, Lisa Townsend of Waitsfield, VT; and one grandchild, Megan Townsend also of Waitsfield, VT. Megan was a source of immense pride, joy and laughter in her life. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lee Bozoti of Lake City, FL, and Sandy Myers of Crowell, FL, and a brother, David Wagner of Bradenton, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St. West, Bradenton, FL  34205.
