Esther Carter, 76, of Waterbury, died September 30, 2007, at home following a long illness.

She was born in Wheeling, WVA., on June 17, 1931. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Greece. In 1954, she married Walter Carter and in 1970 moved to Waterbury.

While she enjoyed many outdoor activities with her family, her main interest was focused on her Christian ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Right up until the time of her death she enjoyed sharing her hope for the future based on Bible truths with all those who would listen.

Survivors include her three sons, Brian Carter of North Fayston, Drew Carter of Moretown, and Glen Carter of Waterbury; and one grandson.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, October 3, at 5 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Berlin.
