James H. Hannon, 73, passed away in the comfort of his Waitsfield
home on Thursday, February 19, 2009. Born in Brighton, MA, on October
9, 1935, he was the son of the late James R. and Mary (Gaudet) Hannon.
On December 26, 1964, James married the former Barbara Bowler in
Worcester, MA.
Jim graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst with a
bachelor of science degree in chemistry and went to work for Texaco as
a chemist. He later was employed in sales, marketing and management by
the PerkinElmer Corp. in Norwalk, CT, from which he retired.
A skier at Mad River Glen since 1957, Jim and his wife have maintained
a vacation home in Waitsfield since 1969 and have been full-time
residents here for the past four years. He also enjoyed playing golf.
Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Hannon of Waitsfield;
a daughter, Denice Hannon Perera and her husband Sean of Holliston, MA;
a son, James B. Hannon and his wife Nancy of Somers, NY; five
grandchildren; a brother, Robert Hannon of Brimfield, MA; as well as
nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
