Edith J. Redding

Edith J. (Elizeus) Redding, 90, loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 21, 2009, in Palm Bay, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Redding Sr., an inspector at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles who died in 1968. Edith was born in Kelly Station, PA, on February 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Louis and Susanna (Brndiar) Elizeus. 

Edith was an employee of McQuade's Department Store in Lowell, MA, for many years and a World War II WAC Veteran. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and a member of St. Margaret's Sodality. Edith enjoyed spending many winters, after retiring, in Palm Bay, Florida, with her son and his wife and summers in Waitsfield, Vermont, with her other sons and their families. 

Surviving Mrs. Redding are her sons, Paul J. Redding Jr. and his wife Kathy in Palm Bay, Florida, Brian J. Redding and his wife Anne, John P. Redding, and Daniel J. Redding and his wife Melody, in Waitsfield; a sister, Mildred Lilli in New Kensington, PA; seven grandchildren, Heidi, Caitlin, Travis, Jesse, Bailey, Oliver and Lillian; two step-grandchildren, Shaun and Lisa; and one step-great-grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to Edith's husband, Paul, she is also preceded in death by three brothers (Louis Elizeus, John Elizeus and Joseph Elizeus), two sisters (Ella Elizeus and Susan Lilli) and her parents.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, in Lowell, MA. Edith was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
