Ashley Woods and Dave Hodgson, both veterans in the gingerbread business, explained some fundamentals, demonstrating how to make and use durable icing and candy glass, and answered questions.
The sixth annual Gingerbread Contest and tour event will be held at the Big Picture Theater in Waitsfield, December 5 to 7. Everyone is welcome to participate; there is a per house entry fee. The gingerbread projects should be completely edible to be eligible for the contest. The deadline to enter is Friday, December 5.

All gingerbread projects should be brought to the Big Picture between 5 and 8 p.m. on that day. The projects will be judged and ribboned and the display will open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The display will also be open Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
