Nullmeyer racing for Team Canada at the Winter Youth Olympic Games.

On February 18, Ali Nullmeyer of Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) triumphed in all three events at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) winning the silver medal in the women’s slalom, fifth in the giant slalom and seventh in the super giant slalom for her home country of Canada.

The Youth Olympic Games took place February 12 through 21 in Lillehammer, Hamar, Gjøvik, Øyer and Oslo, Norway. More than 1,100 athletes, ages 15 to 18, competed from 70 different nations. Nullmeyer says, “My favorite part about competing in the games was being a part of a team of more than just alpine skiers. We were able to cheer on different teammates at different sporting events throughout the games. My time off the hill was just as exciting and busy as my time on the hill which made it all such an unforgettable 10 days.”

Nullmeyer's GMVS coach, Chris Frank, says, "We are very proud of Ali's recent accomplishments against the world's best. With her commitment, ability and hard work, day in and day out, there will be more to come."

Green Mountain Valley School is a ski academy with alpine training facilities at Sugarbush Resort and multiple Nordic training facilities throughout the Mad River Valley area. The academy offers a full academic curriculum, theater program, student clubs and spring and fall sports. GMVS currently has graduates on the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Collegiate Team, Team Great Britain and the Spanish Team.
