In years past, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife has stocked the Kids' Brook with approximately 200 brook trout.

Tackle will be provided for participants who don't have their own, and "Let's go Fishing" instructors will be on hand to provide information and instruction as needed.

Instructors in the Let's Go Fishing program organize local fishing events to teach fishing techniques and ethical attitudes to Vermont's next generation of anglers.

Registration for the annual fishing derby begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Warren Fire Station. A list of upcoming Kids' Brook fishing events is listed on the Vermont Fish and Wildlife website, www.vtfishandwildlife.com .

Trophies will be awarded for the most fish, and for largest and smallest fish caught. Refreshments will be served until the end of the day. For information about the fire department derby, contact Tom Eid at 496-2242.
